August Rush
Just before the kids head back to school in the fall, the Portage 1st family invites the community to visit the church’s farm, Crossroads, for a day of music, games, laughter and relaxation.
Stories of ‘My first car….’ can be overheard as families stroll by classic cars in the annual
August Rush Car Show, held in the church’s parking lot on McCool Road.
Reserve part of your day at August Rush to kick back on a blanket and watch the clouds roll by as you enjoy live music performed by phenomenal Christian bands. Not far from the stage you’ll find face painting, games, and the challenge of an inflatable obstacle course.
In 2010 the Angel Hunt was added to showcase the beauty of the Prayer Path at Crossroads. Over a dozen angels await kids of all ages to seek, find and turn in for fun little prizes.
August Rush, founded in 2008, is an outreach ministry of Portage 1st United Methodist Church.
